WiFi comes to the quiet zone: community q&a

The U.S. National Science Foundation Green Bank Observatory (NSF GBO) is entering a new era for the “Quiet Zone”— allowing the use of WiFi at the Green Bank Elementary and Middle School, which sits next door to the NSF Green Bank Telescope.

WiFi at 2.4GHz will now be permitted for use by the school and other residents in the area. Guidance will be available for how to set-up WiFi routers to operate at this specific frequency.

Green Bank Observatory Director Anthony Remijan and News Manager Jill Malusky will share a presentation and answer questions about this change in the “Quiet Zone.”

  • Thursday, August 14th, 6:30 PM
  • Science Center Auditorium
