Would you like to volunteer? Our Volunteer Science Ambassadors (VSAs) support the mission of the Green Bank Observatory every day.

What do VSAs get to do? There are a variety of fun projects every day! You could: conduct science demonstrations in the Science Center lobby; answer questions about the facility and greet guests; develop special nature and educational trails, participate in beautification projects for the facility; help with Family Science Days; or maybe even create new exhibits.

Join the Green Bank Observatory team! All VSAs receive: an exclusive Green Bank Observatory ID Card and access to site recreational facilities such as the pool and fitness room; free shirts from the Galaxy Gift Shop; inclusion in employee recreation association events and employee discounts on skiing and golf; and invitations to science talks.

VSA Candidates apply via paper applications annually.  Education and Outreach staff will review applications and conduct interviews. Request an application at gro.y1733627249rotav1733627249resbo1733627249bg@sn1733627249oitan1733627249od1733627249!
