Enjoy view of West Virginia’s beautiful night sky! Observatory staff will be available to help you look through optical telescopes and identify constellations.

Star parties are free, but please sign in at the Science Center. We often begin in the auditorium with an indoor tour of this month’s night sky before we head out to the telescope. Star parties generally start 30-45 minutes after sunset – check the events calendar each month for specific start times. Observing will last for up to 2 hrs, but please arrive within the first hour. Doors will open 15 minutes before we start.

The star party will be cancelled if clouds or rain prevail. Check the forecast before you travel, and we’ll provide an update on Facebook by 4PM the day of the party if the weather is looking uncooperative.
