Greenbrier valley archaeology: Findings at fort warwick
Join us at the Green Bank Science Center for an evening of archaeology as Drs. Kim and Stephen McBride present the latest results from the extensive archaeological excavations recently completed at Fort Warwick, a historical site right here in Green Bank, WV! Fort Warwick was a frontier structure built in 1774 as a militia outpost, and it sheltered colonial settlers throughout the Revolutionary War and beyond. The recent excavations have uncovered unique architecture and added to the extensive collection of militia and domestic artifacts that shed light on the events and people of the time. New maps and artifacts will be on display for the talk.
