100 meter Green Bank Telescope

The 100-meter Green Bank Telescope is the world’s premiere single-dish radio telescope operating at meter to millimeter wavelengths. Its enormous 100-meter diameter collecting area, its unblocked aperture, and its excellent surface accuracy provide unprecedented sensitivity across the telescope’s full operating range.

Satellite Tracking Antenna

Built by the US Navy, the 20-meter antenna is capable of tracking speeds of up to 120 degrees each minute. Today the telescope is in occasional use for educational programs, but is available for contract work.

It's huge collecting area is what allows us to see these incredibly small energies that we're trying to study, The types of energies we look at are less than the energy of a single snowflake falling on the earth.
