October 17, 2017 is the 60th anniversary of the dedication of the observatory in Green Bank, WV.
To recognize this historical occasion, we would like to invite all Green Bank, LBO, AUI, and NRAO staff, retirees, and family to join us in a celebration on site, October 17th, 2017, which will include tours of the GBT, a public talk, and a dinner with reminiscing.
To ensure we can accommodate everyone, we are asking that you let us know before October 2, 2017, that you are coming. (Please note that if you have registered for the Transformative Workshop for the Next Generation, you do not need to register again.)
Schedule 11:30-1:00 Light lunch served in the cafeteria for staff, retirees, and guests12:30-16:00 Registration, movies, exhibits, snacks, etc in the Science Center
1:00 – 3:30 Tours of the GBT. Meet at the Science Center. Buses will run from 1:00 until 2:30 to take people on the tour. In case of rain, we will offer site tours
(GBT tours are open to all GBO, LBO, and NRAO staff, retirees, and families; Please note that you must be at least 16 years of age to go up onto the GBT structure and must wear closed-toe shoes with no narrow heels.)4:00 – 5:00 Public talks looking back on 60 years of Green Bank history (Science Center).
