The Green Bank Observatory is aware that the AstrID Balance() command is failing for observations using the Prime Focus 800 MHz receiver.

Change in balance command
We have released a change in the behavior of the Balance() command on the GBT.

GBT at Full azimuth Slew Rate
The GBT has returned to the regular full azimuth slew rate.

RH8 UPGRADE COMPLETE
The Green Bank Observatory has finished the process of upgrading to Red Hat 8 (RH8). Observations can again be done with either machine Ariel or Titania!

Ku-Band TCal values updated
The default TCal values used for standard calibration have been updated for the Ku-Band receiver.

GBT at 3/4 azimuth Slew Rate
Three more azimuth wheels have been replaced during this summer maintenance period. Wheel inspection shows no advanced signs of fatigue in the remaining wheels. The restriction to 1/2 azimuth slew rate has been lifted and the GBT is now moving at 3/4 azimuth slew rate.

LO Doppler Tracking Issue
Data taken with the GBT during the period March 13th, 2023 @18:00 ET – May 25th, 2023 were not corrected properly for doppler tracking in the barycentric and LSR frames.

We encourage all observers to test the new installation prior to your observations.
