I am currently a staff scientist at the Green Bank Observatory, West Virginia, USA, coming from a previous position as a senior scientist at the Met Office in the UK. Prior to that I had postdoctoral positions at the University of Hertfordshire and Liverpool John Moores University in the UK, following an NSERC fellowship at St. Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and an NRAO postdoctoral fellowship at Green Bank, WV.

I completed my PhD in astrophysics from the University of Kent in 2006 and have spent my career in astronomy attempting to further the understanding of star formation in the Milky Way. My focus has spanned the formation of high-mass stars, the triggering of star formation through radiatively-driven implosion, the relationship of gas and dust in the interstellar medium and the dynamics of the interstellar medium.
